The English House

The London Experience

In this workshop, students will get a chance to 'visit' London and to experience some of its quintessential elements like the red buses and the London Eye.

Of course, London is the capital of England, but London is so much more! London is an exciting mixture of famous historic landmarks, cultural hotspots, and people from all over the world living together. This London workshop will give your students a chance to experience quintessential parts of London: the red buses, the London Eye, the Tower, and many more.

Activities

Singing, drawing, talking, playing games, solving puzzles, small group activities

English as language of communication

All workshops are in English and Anneke will only speak English with the students. This has didactic and pedagogical reasons: believing that Anneke only speaks and understands English motivates students to communicate/try to understand in English as well, even if they are unsure of themselves, because it is the only way to communicate with Anneke. And in doing so, they will get to practice their English in a safe environment and find that they are (much) better than they expected.

Your role as classroom/English teacher:

  • You are present throughout the workshop
  • You are the one who can speak Danish, if necessary (Anneke only speaks English)
  • You remain responsible for the students’ behavior and well-being, as you know them well
  • Have lots of fun with the students!
